Federal Bankruptcy Court Districts
There are 94 federal judicial districts in the United States, each with a bankruptcy court. Your case must be filed in the district where you have lived for the greater part of the last 180 days.
To find your court:
- Visit uscourts.gov/court-locator
- Enter your zip code or state
- The locator will show your district and the clerk's office address
Most districts allow electronic filing (CM/ECF) for attorneys. Pro se filers typically file in person at the clerk's office, though some districts now accept pro se electronic filing.
